RAM, or Random Access Memory, is a type of computer data storage, that enables the data to be read randomly without accessing the preceding bytes before that. That makes the RAM substantially faster than other types of storage devices such as DVDs or HDDs where all of the data needs to be read so that you can access specific info. When you have a shared hosting account, the amount of memory that your web applications can use can't be fixed and may commonly be determined by the free memory that's available on the physical web server. With a standalone server, however, there is always a minimum amount of physical memory that shall be for your use at all times and will not be allotted to other clients even when it isn't used. That is valid with our virtual and dedicated servers.
