If you want to transfer a domain name from one registrar company to another, you will need to pass through a few security steps. One of them is getting a unique EPP code from the present domain name registrar – provided that you are the domain registrant, since the code is emailed to the domain owner’s email and nobody else can obtain it. You will need to give this code to the new registrar, or else they will not be able to initiate the domain transfer process. The EPP authorization codes are case-sensitive and may include digits or special symbols such as dots or commas, which can be easily misentered, so make sure you copy and paste the correct code. As an additional safety measure, the transfer authorization code for a domain may be reset regularly. Certain companies refer to this code as a domain password, an Auth key or a domain secret as well.
