A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get emails from friends or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be delivered to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
Setting up a catch-all e-mailbox will be rather easy in case you’ve got a Linux hosting package with our company. You can activate the feature through our advanced, yet easy-to-work-with Email Manager, which is integrated into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will manage your shared web hosting account. You will find all the email addresses that you’ve created listed alphabetically and on the right side of each one of them there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately inform you if a specific mailbox receives all the messages associated with a certain domain name or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate the feature at any moment. If there is activated email forwarding or if a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a particular domain, you will get a warning from our system. The latter will not deactivate/replace anything automatically or without your approval.
